Redtooth’s Challenge to Britain’s Brainiest Pub Quiz Team

Redtooth Quizzes has lined up a new challenge for Britain’s brainiest pub quiz team.

The Unusual Suspects from The Royal Oak, in New Street, Kenilworth, Warwickshire is taking on the collective talents of some of the UK’s top television quizzers.

The celebrities – Shaun Wallace and Paul Sinha, both  from ITV’s The Chase, Pat Gibson from BBC’s Eggheads and Mike Steer from Channel 4’s Educating Yorkshire – will be aiming to put the team from the Royal Oak to the test.

The Royal Oak quartet – Craig Element, Gareth Kingston, Danielle Cartwright and Nic Paul – get the opportunity after being crowned as the brainiest pub quiz team in Britain when winning the country’s largest pub quiz contest.

They won £2,000 in Punch Taverns’ Great British Pub Quiz national final at Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Molineux Stadium. They emerged victorious after eight weeks of preliminary quizzes and a regional final before 24 teams battled it out in the national final of the competition organised by Redtooth Quizzes and sponsored by Carling.

Redtooth Managing Director Martin Green said: “This promises to be a special team challenge and a great way to round-off this year’s Great British Pub Quiz. We are expecting a lot of people to be at the Royal oak to see if the locals can beat the celebrity team.”

Registrations for the 2015 event are now being taken. For more information on the Punch Taverns’ Great British Pub Quiz, visit: www.facebook.com/punchnationalquiz.
