Redtooth take 6-a-side football to the next level
Redtooth are appealing to pubs for entries from 6-a-side football teams for the launch of their brand new league in January 2010.
Redtooth, the UK’s biggest supplier of quizzes and live poker to the pub trade, is launching the first tournament to find the best 6-a-side
team in the country with a UK final held at the prestigious Lilleshall National Sports Centre and £9,000 prize money for the winning team.
Redtooth Football 6 promise to take football to the next generation with nine man squads playing in Nike branded kits in leagues all around the country competing for places in the regional finals in 14 week seasons. All referees and matches will be affiliated to the FA and each team pays just £31.50 per week to compete in their league. The 32 winning teams from the regional finals will then compete for the UK finals which have already been booked at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in April 2011. In total there will be £37,500 prize money in the pot.
Redtooth run the world’s largest live poker tournament with over 75,000 registered players competing through UK pubs and are also the largest suppliers of quizzes to the trade. They are expanding their “real people, real fun, real venues” mantra to 6-a-side football and see pubs as the focal point for every team.
Redtooth Director, Martin Green explained: “Our live poker leagues have been enormously successful over the last three years and we intend to apply the same business model to 6-a-side football with Football 6. It’s a great opportunity for pubs to drive additional traffic into their pubs with the real chance that their team could go on to win at a regional or national level.”
Pubs or licensees who register a 6-a-side team will forgo the £100 deposit normally required and will receive a full marketing pack to promote the team, its fixtures and its weekly placing in the league.
